Chulliyar Dam
Chulliyar Dam is a calm, quiet reservoir nestled near the foothills of the Western Ghats, located in the southern part of Palakkad district. Surrounded by plantations, small villages, and low-hanging clouds, this location is perfect for those looking to escape into unspoiled nature.
Built across the Chulliyar River, a tributary of the Mangalam River, the dam is less crowded than other Palakkad reservoirs, offering peace, reflection, and stunning views of the Meenachiladippara hills. It’s also a great photography destination, especially during early mornings or just before dusk.
Local visitors use the area for leisure, while photographers and nature lovers stop by during trips to Kollengode or Nelliampathy foothills.
