Ottapalam River Walk

Ottapalam River Walk is a picturesque riverside stretch alongside the Bharathapuzha River, one of Kerala’s longest rivers. Located in the peaceful town of Ottapalam, about 35 km from Palakkad, the riverwalk offers a calm and meditative experience.

Lined with trees, fishing spots, and soft sandbanks, the riverfront is ideal for morning strolls, evening reflections, and nature photography. Ottapalam has long been a favorite shooting location for Malayalam cinema – and a walk along the river captures the essence of old-world Kerala.

Visitors can witness fishermen at work, temples along the bank, and locals washing clothes or cattle – giving an authentic peek into daily life by the Bharathapuzha. During monsoons, the river comes alive with gushing currents, and the scenery turns magical.
