Athirappilly Waterfalls is one of Kerala’s most iconic tourist destinations, located about 63 km from Thrissur and 30 km from Chalakudy. Formed by the Chalakudy River, the waterfall plunges dramatically over rocky cliffs, creating a breathtaking curtain of white water surrounded by dense tropical forests.
Recognized as one of India’s most scenic waterfalls, Athirappilly has gained international fame as the filming location for numerous Indian movies, including scenes from Baahubali, Guru, and Raavan. The surrounding forests are part of the biodiverse Western Ghats and are home to rare wildlife, including the Great Hornbill, Malabar giant squirrel, Nilgiri langur, and many endemic bird species.
