Malampuzha Dam and Garden, located just 10 km from Palakkad town, is one of Kerala’s most iconic tourist destinations. Constructed across the Malampuzha River, a tributary of the Bharathapuzha, this dam not only supports irrigation but also forms the heart of a scenic recreational space that includes lush gardens, amusement parks, ropeways, boating, and more.
The expansive Malampuzha Gardens, often dubbed Kerala’s “Vrindavan Gardens,” are beautifully landscaped with fountains, sculptures, flower beds, and walkways. The standout feature is the massive Yakshi Statue – a stunning art piece created by Kanayi Kunhiraman.
Activities here range from boating in the reservoir, riding the ropeway, visiting the aquarium and snake park, or simply enjoying an evening by the illuminated fountains. It’s ideal for all age groups and attracts tourists, families, and school trips in large numbers.
