Overview

Palakkad Fort – A Timeless Tale of Valor

Palakkad Fort, also known as Tipu’s Fort, is a well-preserved historical monument situated in the heart of Palakkad city. Built in the 18th century by Hyder Ali of Mysore, this granite fort is a symbol of Kerala’s rich past and military architecture.

Surrounded by a moat and sprawling gardens, the fort is perfect for history buffs, photographers, and morning walkers. Inside, you’ll find the Hanuman Temple, sub-jail ruins, and remnants of colonial administration. It’s also home to government offices today, blending old and new.

Whether you’re interested in architecture, heritage, or a peaceful evening walk, Palakkad Fort offers a glimpse into the stories that shaped the region.
