Seethargundu Viewpoint
Perched on the edge of Nelliyampathy Hills, the Seethargundu Viewpoint offers one of the most captivating views in all of Kerala. With valleys stretching below and mist swirling around, it’s no surprise that the viewpoint is tied to legends – it’s believed that Sita Devi from the Ramayana once visited this site during her exile.
From here, visitors get panoramic vistas of Palakkad plains, forested slopes, and the nearby Seethargundu waterfall (not always accessible but visible in monsoon). It’s also a fantastic place for birdwatching, especially for spotting endemic species like the Malabar Whistling Thrush.
A short drive or trek through tea plantations leads to this spot, making it a must-visit destination for those in Nelliyampathy.
